I build baroque trebles in two models.
The Stanesby copy
These instruments are based on a Stanesby Sr. recorder in the Frans Brüggen collection with an original pitch of a=406 Hz.
In addition to the transposition to A=440 Hz, I have made a minor change of the bore in order to achieve a more convenient intonation of the high e and f.
The Arvidsson original baroque alto
These instruments have a new type of bore, developed by me, and an external design preserved from Stanesby. The intension with the new bore was to achieve better equality in timbre and attack (see New baroque bore), and I venture to say it is a success.
The instruments can be made with double or single holes, and built in either European boxwood or grenadilla.
